Stormy Wednesday and Thursday???

Yes we are in for another round of severe weather today and tomorrow as the forecast are calling for severe thunderstorms, high winds, hails and flooding with possible of Tornadoes. I pray and hope that there will be no tornadoes. :( Please pray for us as we don't need another disaster. jeez!

In all of the confusions due to newspaper and tv news. It concluded that there were only 2 deaths in Conway county not 3 like Ark. Democrat and Gazette newspaper said?

I was watching tv news and they said something about the injured son is still alive in Little Rock hospital but with brain injuries and lung injuries so gonna be a long recovery for the son. They said the son is stable as of right now so that is good news.

I still don't know the injured son's name but I do know the deceased son. I looked up in TJ's yearbook to see what Michael look like and I have seen him when I dropped TJ off at school. Michael's Familues and friends are in our thoughts and prayers. :(

In case you are curious.. You can check my hometown newspaper out. Here is the link- www.headlightnews.com feel free to look thru ok.

I hope you have an ordinary day! Stay safe wherever you are at!

As always,
Ginger :)

Happy Mother's Day to all you mothers of kids and pets! We hope
you have a wonderful holiday.
Kathleene gives us a nice story about how an abandoned puppy
landed herself on the right doorstep. Someone upstairs was looking
out for her.

THE RIGHT DOORSTEP
by Kathleene S. Baker

The pickup pulled to the side of the road and stopped.
The driver's door opened and out jumped a young Catahoula pup.
As her owner drove away, the dog stood motionless and watched until
the pickup vanished from sight. She began to whimper and pace.
The despicable act had been witnessed by workers not much
further down the road. They called and whistled. The youngster's
ears perked up and immediately responded to the sound of humans.
She charged into the group with a smile on her face and gave
sloppy kisses all around. She wore a collar and tag indicating her
name was Nan -- there was no additional information. Luckily, she
appeared well fed with no signs that she had been mistreated. She
simply wasn't wanted so was tossed out like a sack of trash.
Jack Gardner snatched "Nan" up and she was headed for a new
home. She'd not face the stress of dog shelters and/or foster homes.
One very fortunate pooch!
To say Jack and Joanne Gardner are dog lovers hardly describes
the passion they have for any and all breeds. You name it, and
they've had it at some point in their lives, be it purebred or a
Heinz 57 variety. All that's required to have a home is four legs
and a fur coat!
Several years ago, Ava came into their lives. The name fits
their prissy little Yorkie perfectly. From the get-go she had no
problem establishing herself as "top dog" and at that time they had
two older, but huge, Russian Wolfhounds. She ruled the roost and led
them around by their noses! Her reign continues with 6 month old Nan.
Upon Nan's arrival, Ava took to her bed for three days -- the
king size bed, that is! She guarded it fiercely, racing full speed
up one side, down the other and across the foot. On the fourth day,
Nan bravely laid her head on the foot of the bed and Ava went
berserk. She snarled, snapped and charged. "This is my bed and
you're way too big for it!" Ava continues her foolish behavior
although Nan no longer even bats an eyelash.
Nan did come with a few issues but only typical puppy behavior.
Within the first few weeks she ate two pair of expensive leather
loafers belonging to Jack, and three pair of house slippers.
Luckily, Joanne works for a vet clinic. You know, in case Nan gets
herself into serious trouble with her eating disorder!
Trying to satisfy Nan's chewing habits, numerous expensive toys
have been purchased that are guaranteed not to break regardless of
breed. Yep, she's destroyed all of them! The Gardners have been
busy returning "parts" for refunds. Local pet store clerks have come
to know them on a first name basis, all thanks to Nan!
With dogs come baby gates and since Nan joined the family, they
have nearly as many baby gates as they do rooms! Nonetheless, when
Nan isn't getting into mischief she is a lover and size does not
hinder her efforts at being a lap dog. She does her best to find a
lap that will accommodate her 70 pound body.
Kitchen kleptomania is another doggie dilemma that has Joanne in
a quandary. Closing off the dog door to the backyard might solve the
problem but could cause unwanted accidents! Hopefully when Nan signs
up for Obedience School they will have some sort of specialized
therapy for her condition, because if Joanne continues to find forks,
knives and spoons in the backyard she may need therapy herself.
Especially when she's never been able to catch Nan snatching them
from the table or an open dishwasher! Nan is a sly one for sure.
Yes, Nan has joined the ranks of a very happy pack that includes
the reigning terror Ava, an 11 year old mixed breed named Mutley and
two cats -- Tucker and Bye Bye.
When a sweet girl that was thrown out like yesterday's newspaper
landed -- she certainly landed on the right doorstep!
